NHL in court over concussions lawsuit

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The National Hockey League tried to have a lawsuit by former players thrown out of court on Thursday. The NHL argued on the basis of two legal technicalities.

The one motion before Judge Susan Nelson contended that the players should have used U.S. Labor Law, rather than the "Common Law" in federal court. Both sides cited numerous cases to bolster their position.
